  • Clients: Gestion PCA
  • Location: Dorval Qc
  • Mandate: HUMÀ designed a project that reinvested a circular building, originally the cafeteria, set up on a 100’ x 100’ water basin and connected to the main building by a glass bridge.
  • Realisation date: spring 2012
  • Partners: Cardinal Hardy Architectes
  • Concept and challenges: The new functions associated to the space include a gym, lounge, cafeteria with bar and a catering area, cohabited with success in the restored original architecture. The bar sits under a ceramic wall art piece of 7 'x 26' executed around 1961 by Claude Vermette and designed by artist Mousseau. The imposing central mushroom-shaped column, core of this architecture, with its marquee pierced with recessed lights, has been preserved. It now represents the pivot point, dividing the space with the use of 26' long x 8' high custom angled framed fabric partitions suspended from the ceiling.
