  • Concept and challenges: Situated on street level of one of the industrial buildings of the Chabanel neighborhood, the Tatami restaurant is implemented within a mix of loft style, by using volumes in a preserved industrial structure and of arts and crafts. The bar and the tables, drawn by HUMÀ are made out of recycled materials such as wood. With the strong desire to integrate mythical and functional elements, which lived in this former textile and clothes making sector, the Singer stools underline the bar and the recycled electric wire coils light the space. The graphic identity designed by HUMÀ is reflected in tall mirrors where haikus, Japanese proverbs, lead to reflections and discussions.
