Concept and challenges: After creating the Melanie x Victoria store and the Melanie X Lysanne pop-up store, Humà was commissioned to roll out the concept again for the Melanie X Grace store located in Montreal's Notre Dame de Grace neighborhood.
Melanie X Grace is a mutifaceted place: a clothing store and a place for one-off workshops organized by actors from local life. So Humà designed this space as a real workshop studio: this cosy and bright space can be entirely reconfigured according to the collections, seasons, events proposed by Mélanie and conveys the impression of being in a contemporary Parisian interior. The initial terrazzo floor was kept to link the different spaces of the shop; giving unity to it. The walls and bricks are painted in a chalk white contrasting with the ground but also highlighting the colorful clothing and accessories of the collections as well as to the exceptional brightness of the boutique. The reception desk is wrapped with a mirror to hide the storage on the other side and giving even more space to the boutique.
A rail racking system designed and developed by Humà ground In order to make the space fully flexible, suspends clothes floating above the floor. The wheeled furniture as well as the walls of shelves and drawers present a large variety of accessories announcing the seasonal trend colors of the shop.
