Concept and challenges: The Dayan Group, partnering with HUMÀ's team of professionals, proposes the redevelopment of an important portion of the urban block for residential purposes circumscribed by Notre-Dame, Richmond, William, and Saint-Martin streets. Located in Griffintown, an area is known for its real estate development effervescence, the project of L’ilo Saint-Martin completes the transformation of this largely industrial neighborhood into a residential area. Named LE SE7T, the project is inspired by the renewal of the sector with the integration of small businesses. The variety of the types of housing proposed and their organization makes it possible to answer the particular needs: from the studio to the large housing of three bedrooms, the units’ surfaces vary and are always planned with care. The landscape architecture consistently maintains and improves the settings of the buildings. In addition, the project is based on the standards of sustainable development and meets the prerogatives relating to the heritage of the site and the sector, through a thoughtful inscription in space and a nuanced architectural language.
